Chuck Diggle grew up on James Island, SC, in a family-owned community newspaper publishing business. As a young adult, he moved to Mount Pleasant, where he spent nearly two decades working his way through every aspect of the Charleston-based business - pressroom, darkroom, ad production, ad sales, and reporting. He then served a decade as executive editor and associate publisher of the Moultrie News in Mount Pleasant, SC. He left that position in 2003 to publish the Joint Base Charleston military newspapers for the next 15 years. During this time, he also worked as a researcher for a government contractor in Washington, D.C. and he worked for two years in the property management field. Chuck then became Editor of Public Affairs at Joint Base Charleston, SC, later taking another contract job with the federal government as a Partnership Specialist for the U.S. Census Bureau. After considering real estate for many years, Chuck decided to put his varied experiences and deep roots in the Charleston area to work in what he intends to be his final career - as Realtor at Carolina One Real Estate, working at the Mount Pleasant North office. Throughout 35 years of work in newspapers and public relations, Chuck has lived in Mount Pleasant and became deeply involved in the community, developing relationships throughout the Lowcountry. He served was Charter President of the Junior Chamber of Commerce in the town. He was elected and served for three years each as Vice President and then President of the Mount Pleasant Chamber of Commerce. He also served a term on the Town of Mount Pleasant Planning Commission. Chuck is a graduate of the College of Charleston with a degree in Business Administration and is also a graduate of the Charleston Chamber of Commerce’s “Leadership Charleston” program. He is an experienced Notary Public for the State of South Carolina - notarizing documents and performing wedding ceremonies for the past decade.
